It is probably safe to say that everyone has heard of Wordpress. There is a lot of buzz surrounding the software package. It has been around for awhile and as of writing this it is currently version 2.9.2 and will soon be verion 3.0. For those who have no experience with it or are not sure – Wordpress is an open source CMS that is primarily used as a back-end for Blogs. See the Pros and Cons below for more detail on that.

Among other projects I was able to whip together a new Wordpress theme for this site. As a follow-up to this post I will be posting some bits about my experience with Wordpress in general but suffice to say it gets the job done fairly well. Logo design, color themes and crafting the overall feel of the site is another story altogether.
Up next for the site are going to be some smaller projects – contact form, my portfolio, a little bit of SEO optimization, some graceful error handling and last but not least a method or two to keep bots at bay. These updates should show up faster than the last ones.
Update: I’ll also be resizing things to fit a 1024×768 resolution… things are currently a bit large.
Oh, Hi! There are still some occasional hiccups with the site as it clamors to life.
To spare visitors from the default WordPress theme I’ve gone ahead and chosen a little bit more interesting one… albeit slightly harder to read. A custom theme will be created after a time. For now, please have patience.
You’ll see content start to come online as things start to come together and the rough edges are smoothed out. Check back soon!
